End of Event Stage Presentations (20070428 Angels Among Us) : The 2007 14th annual Angels Among Us was a big success, breaking all previous records with many participants (nearly 900 runners and 2000 walkers from all over the country) and over a million dollars ($1,063,848) raised, well over the $800,000 goal. Walk (20070428 Angels Among Us) : After the morning's 5K run and time for team photos, the 2007 Angels Among Us continued with the largest event, a "family fun walk" through Duke University's campus. My guess is that there were 1000-3000 walkers. Information, Photography (20070428 Angels Among Us) : Angels Among Us is an annual charitable family event with all proceeds benefiting research of brain and spinal tumors at Duke University's Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. Established in 1994 as the Duke Forest 5K by two Duke employees, each of whom wanted to make a difference after each losing a family member to a brain tumor, it includes thousands of volunteers and participants. After an 8a 5-kilometer run through campus, there are family activities and entertainment, as well as a family fun walk through Duke Gardens. In 1994, $27,000 was raised, and last year, in 2006, over $671,000 was raised.
